 ABOUT THE EDITOR 
Ralien Bekkers is a passionate advocate for climate action and sustainable development. Originally from The Netherlands, she is currently based in the United States, where she - through a unique  crowd funding  effort - completed a Master's Degree in Environmental Management at Yale University in 2017. She works at Yale as Program Manager for Sustainable Development Goals and Implementation. She runs campaigns for climate action and is actively engaged in political affairs.
In 2015, she supported the United Nations Executive Office of the Secretary-General on the Post-2015 Development Agenda (Sustainable Development Goals), and worked on climate change and intergenerational equity for the COP21 conference in Paris, building upon several years of UNFCCC advocacy work. From 2012 until 2014 she served as the Official Dutch Youth Representative on Sustainable Development to the United Nations. Ralien also graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Future Planet Studies. She was recently named the #50 most influential person in sustainability in The Netherlands.
